Shibuya and Yoyogi Park

Hey friends!

Too much exploring in two days. First on the agenda was Shibuya, the notorious crossing you see in "Tokyo Drift" (I actually don't know if that's true, I heard someone say it once so I carried it on) with my Aloha sisters as per usual. The main aim was to find the SIX level Forever 21 and buy myself some crazy jumpers. The Forever 21 was a flat out disappointment since I walked with nothing lol and I didn't find any jumpers! We went to Shibuya 109 which is about 8 floors of Japanese boutiques, nothing, walked out with nothing. I was so upset that I opted in buying socks at the end of the day. I am going to leave Japan with a sock collection I guarantee you.

We only had about 5 hours to explore Shibuya since we always leave our dorm late (because we don't believe in waking up before 9am) and we had our dorm welcoming party later that night. 5 hours isn't enough to explore that city so I'll most likely be going back every so weekend to try specific restaurants/cafe.

Today, it was Yoyogi Park on the agenda for the RJ students. This is an event planned by the uni and anyone who can go needs to just pack a bento (lunch) for the picnic. Yoyogi park is probably like Central Park of New York. It's gigantic and everyone goes there for picnics and pretty much showing off their ridiculous dogs. After the picnic we went to Meiji shrine, finally traditional Japanese culture. My favourite was the wooden planks where people pay 500 yen and they write a prayer and hang it. I thought it was awesome because there was just wooden planks everywhere and prayers written in all sorts of languages, all praying to their own God.

Afterwards we went to Harajuku but sadly my camera died. We only did a fast walk through and didn't do any shopping at all. So I'll be going back maybe this weekend to take more photos and buy some crazy kawaii clothes... just kidding get out. Harajuku is seriously the capital of trend, there is so many Japanese hipsters, Japanese swaggers, kawaii fashion and of course the over the top Harajuku style. So many tbs and fashionistas come out to play.

Anyway I'm exhausted. I need to sleep for forever. Here are my photos and my video from the past two days. Tomorrow hits my two weeks in Japan - FREAKY!

Crazy effing Japanese owners lol
