Photo post #1

Buying groceries by myself was incredibly daunting, but at the end of it I actually prefer that then going with someone. At times I really want to explore cities by myself because being with a group or someone else can slow you down but I think I need to explore first with other kids so that if I'm lost, they're lost with me. This isn't a big post, just a post about my day. It was really simple since most of my day was taking a placement test that went for four hours so that the uni knows which level we are. Afterwards there was a seminar in regards to phones and I'm finally getting a phone that will work in Japan tomorrow.

Can not get over how beautiful uni can be with a touch of cherry blossoms

Siaopaw for only $1 for lunch

Grocery shopping!
I spent quite a bit on groceries today since I was smart enough to bring an empty backpack with me. I bought some stuff that I kind of like seeing in my room to feel more like home. I got pringles, doritoes, spam and nutella. Also grabbed some uni supplies.

Some ice cream for home. Pack of 6 for $2? I swear Japan lifestyle is cheap!

My fridge looking more like a fridge.

Feeling more like home

Decisions on what rice cooker to buy has resorted in microwaveable rice. It took me a good 5 minutes to figure out instructions. Instructions was me looking for the kanji character of water and if I needed to add any. I didn't need to add anything haha.

I was going to have broccoli but I figured out my stove might be broken.

Last time I was in Japan my host family would add this on top of my rice and it made it taste delicious! Bought a packet of about 10 for myself.

So chicken and rice for dinner and NO broccoli.

I did my washing today... and already failed. So much lint on my leggings!!!!! Lesson learnt, not putting towels together?

To end the post, I bought a bath rug. Again hardest time trying to find a real plain one and not pastel or floral or kawaii. Also I bought slippers.

  1. I think it's great to explore the city on your own too and how exciting and daunting grocery shopping sounds but SPAM is always a good choice. hahaha! So jealous you got to see and small the cherry blossoms!
