Three main districts in one day, I am beat. Today I had a meet up with my teacher from Australia with the other Australian kids and the meet up was at Shinjuku. Keiko Sensei just comes up to Japan to check up on us, see if we have experienced culture shock and if there are any issues we have. It was a win-win situation as I've never been to Shinjuku before and we actually just made a day of exploring Tokyo with other UTS kids. I'll let you all know, I've missed hanging out with familiar faces!
After the meeting we went to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building which is about 50 levels high and it had one of the best views of Tokyo. Soon after we went with Stephanie to accompany her to check in at her hotel in Ginza as she was staying in Tokyo for two nights ... by herself! Crazy girl. I didn't know she was coming down to Tokyo overnight (she lives two hour away from Tokyo by bus) so I agreed to take her around Harajuku and Shibuya tomorrow.
Ginza is crazy. It is filled with rich people everywhere! We thought to rest at a cafe and it was a tea party in the middle of Manhattan. It seriously felt like we were so underdressed and we didn't belong at all. The lady next to us was all decked in branded clothes and accessories and she looked like an angel sent from heaven doing her make up while sipping her tea in cute china. Can't even compare what Ginza is like back at home, it is crazier than Pitt St Mall and Chatswood Chase put together!
Next stop was Akihabara. I know I've already been here, but being in this crazy Electric town at night is a different experience all together! There is so much more going on and more crazy kids are out to play. There was one stage where we were inside a CD mega level store and I just stood still and absorbed everything. There was too much noise and too much lights going on, it felt like a rave.
Funniest story was when we went inside a multi level manga store. We thought, oh well we are in Japan we should go to the 18+ level manga just for fun. We were walking up the stairs and before the entry there were posters everywhere. We couldn't even handle that so we bailed and went back downstairs. Not enough yolo in us tonight.
$35 for watermelon, bastards!
A cuppa tea for ma scrumptious preppy tea party
Gundam food. Lol
I think this is a manga about a man and all his money in his undies.
This one is about a naked guy running and holding a weird shaped object that needs to be blurred....
