Anyway, pretty much the flight to Singapore was very long. I was travelling with Eleanor and Stephanie who are both from UTS and after we got to the airport we were just too tired to explore. The flight to Tokyo was another 6 hours but it went by so fast because at this time my body couldn't handle anything else but sleep.
Getting to Tokyo was breezy in regards to visa and customs (or lack of customs). This is just a video of my flight, a bit of Singapore and the ride to our dorm from the Narita Airport. Also at the end theres an actual video of me wailing on how small the room is or me not being able to figure out how to open the sliding door to the balcony.

This is what's outside my dorm. Japan looks better in black and white. |
This is the 100yen store that I bought $30 worth of stuff. It is now the best friend of every uni student living on a budget. Had to make a trip as soon as I unpacked because I went to the toilet, sat down, looked at my toilet tissue holder and realised there was no tissues. Tragic story.
Myself and Eleanor were trying to find a supermarket near our dorm. Had to break out of my comfort shell and approach a stranger and ask in 100% Japanese where the closest supermarket was. We went inside a convenience store for directions and they were so friendly they even took out a map, tell us in Japanese the directions but me reply with "Sorry me no understand" and then they tell us in broken English. Success. The best supermarket out, I will probably take pictures inside this beauty in the future.
I love cereal, but I didn't understand anything so I went for the one that looked familiar. Frosties... Diabetes in a bloody box.
I had to make two trips, one at the 100yen store and also the supermarket store. Not enough hands, and also no car, just walking. Have to get use to this... So sad. Also as you can see from my video to the photos, I have now tried to make my new home, more at home feeling and more organised.
And this is my fridge... I bought broccoli, bananas, eggs, bread, water, apple juice and milk. LOL yeah I know I have to make another run to the supermarkets.
And yes to my friends who know me or the Narciso's a lot. I bought myself tissues, kitchen paper towels and toilet tissues.
I bought these socks cause they were cute.. and were 100yen. Damn that store is the devil.

Of course I choose the cutest type of plates.

And this is my 100yen haul. A lot of essentials. I was so close on choosing a cute animal scrub for dishes instead of plain metallic ones. LOL
I already have a load of rubbish but I don't want to empty it out. Because that includes going through my rubbish and sorting it out paper, plastic, food etc. And then going downstairs to dump it! CEEBS
And my way of making my room feel like home. Slapping a thousand photos of everyone on my wall and on my fridge.
My less than $7 dinner. Which is pretty much the freshest sushi ever and a pick up drink at the convenience store... the tastiest green tea latte ever.
Anyway the only issues I have is that whoever (Thomas) said I don't need a towel and I can surrender it because I was over baggage. Oh my ganesh. Once I got to the dorm, I just wanted to shower cause I was in the same clothes for 24 hours, and because of no towel I had to improvise with a tiny face towel. Also it is cold!!! It is Spring atm, but it is like our coldest winter back at home. I wish I didn't surrender two jumpers because now I have to wear my going out cardigans. My socks are too thin. And I don't know how to use the air con remote! It says 32 degrees but it's spitting out cold air!
Ok that brings me to the end of my first day. Till next time peeps!
Love G
