Kyoto

So I'm officially back from holiday around Japan that went on for ten days! I am mega super duper tired. I can not express how dead my body feels. Everyday was just complete hustle and bustle! But it was worth it and I feel incredibly happy to be reunited with family and friends again. As soon as I saw them picking me up at the station I just cried haha. I think it was just all the rough times I went through past 4 months and just seeing them made everything just right again - tears of happiness!

Kyoto was our first stop. To describe Kyoto would be traditional, filled with culture and probably a city that gives you the full picture on what Japan really is - historically. It's a city but it's more quiet and it's also more beautiful in it's own way. Tokyo is commercialised, westernised and filled with endless skyscrapers and minimal temples. Kyoto is just filled with them! I also have to say Kyoto cuisine is really good! I think there is more effort in terms of their food, but it was frustrating as every restaurant ran out of food by like 8pm!

If anyone has seen Memoirs of Geisha, everyone would probably know the Torii Gates. Man, beautiful place! Loved it! On our third day the gang actually went to see the bamboo forest, but shamefully I suffered heatstroke haha so I had to pass and rest for a bit. There was also the Golden Temple in my honest opinion was maybe the best temple I've seen. Come on, it's GOLD. Fabulousity.
