Today was miserable, weather sucked so bad! Raining the whole day. Plans were to meet Julia (our coordinator) to head out to Chinatown to do Chinese tabehoudai (all you can eat) with all the RJ kids. We knew not many kids were going to go to this event and the rain didn't help with numbers either. Besides that, it was a small group of us and it was pretty amazing at the end of it.
The tabehoudai was an experience. It's Chinese food but it's every dish you will find in yum cha plus more and you get as much as you want for only $20. I finally tasted shark fin soup. It was average. I didn't go all out because I was saving room for soft cream Julia kept raving about. Soft cream is pretty much ice cream and the flavour was ALMOND. Yeah almond, and it was amazingly beautiful. It tasted sooooooooooo good. Refreshing. Something new. It was love.
Because the rain was making a few of us miserable we all split up but at the end of it I really wanted to go to the Cup Noodle Museum so a few of us went. SO MUCH FUN. Such a modern, clean, slick museum, and it really pushes the idea of just thinking outside the box and looking for inspiration so you can be as successful as the dude who invented instant ramen. On top of that, for just $3 you can make your own flavoured ramen and it was worth it. Colouring in and designing your cup was so relaxing and it made you feel like a five year old but relaxing haha. I dont have any creative genes in me so I made a plain one. But I hope my flavours made up for it! My toppings were that chicken ham tasting thing (no idea what it is but it was cute cause it had chickens on it), kim chi, garlic and spring onion! It expires in a month so I'm going to eat it soon and I will tell everyone how delicious it was.
Yokohama is seriously a city I think everyone will fall in love with. There is nothing more romantic than this place and even in rain, I still love this city so much! I've been told that during Christmas it's even more beautiful. Can't wait for that!
Tiring day. So exhausted. Going to spend tomorrow doing laundry and studying Japanese. Brain fart.
