I've had the busiest weekend to date. From Friday-Sunday I swear all I was doing was eating good food and checking out amazing cafes! That being said, my stomach hasn't been this happy since the three months I've been here. Also yes, I've only been here three months. Every time I mention that to any of my maggot friends they always say "You've only been there 3 months!?" haha.
Anyway on Friday night, it was like a brilliant Eureka moment. Me and my friend went to an Australian inspired cafe which was located at my hometown and I had no flipping idea. It sounds pretty lame being all Australian inspired but it is pretty much those golden gems of a cafe in Surry or Newtown!
Next up was LOVETEN MUSEUM! This museum was the absolute bomb. It just had all different kinds of art that depicted love in its many manifestations.
Watch the promotional video to get a better understanding. The museum is on till September 1 so if any of you guys are in Tokyo before then I strongly suggest to go (you know who you guys are). There were a few that stuck to me, but my favourite works were probably the Love and Family piece "The Asada Family" pretty much ridiculous shots of a family of four like this:
Flipping cute or what? I am such a sucker to cute family photos like these haha. Too bad we couldn't take any photos inside the museum except one section. And if any of you guys know, this one is by Yayoi Kasuma. All I know is that she collaborated with Louis Vuitton lol.
"Love is something you fall into" the artist who designed the Supreme logo, I've been told haha.
By complete accident, after the museum my friend took me to a cafe and funnily enough it was again an Australian cafe called "Bondi Cafe". Again amazing food, the cafe's in Japan really know how to do it!
After this feast, went to the really missed hipster cafe's with amazing coffee's just like Surry or Melbourne. It was amazing, this cafe is mega hyped since it won some fancy award in Seattle for the best coffee art. How super.
And this is how I spent my Friday and Saturday - not doing my assignment.
Love G.
